History of Peterbilt

Peterbilt was founded in 1939 and has been creating vehicles and truck parts that stand the test of time ever since. The company started in the Pacific Northwest with T. A. Peterman. The original products were the dual-drive, lightweight Model 334, and the chain-drive Model 260.

During World War II, Peterbilt was an integral part of the vehicles and equipment used in the military. The Model 364 quickly became a dependable resource in the war effort. Following the war, they continued to grow and innovate. This meant expanding their product line and tirelessly improving the trucks and parts they manufacture.

Today, the company has nearly 400 locations stretching from Alaska to Puerto Rico. They employ talented individuals across a range of fields and continue to improve the quality and safety of their products.
